The Euro Huntington's Disease Network (EHDN) and the Spanish Huntington
Association (ACHE) are pleased to jointly announce the 2004 European
Huntington
Meeting. For the first time, a Meeting of the European Huntington
Associations is
organised in conjunction with a Meeting of European clinicians and
scientists active in HD research.
By meeting back-to-back and by
mutual participation in sessions of both organisation the close ties
between lay groups/patient advocates and clinician/scientist active in
HD reserach are (hopefully) further strengthened and the vital
importance of working together is acknowledged.
The meeting of the Euro-HD-Network (EHDN 2004) will
take place from Friday, October 1st until Saturday, October 2, 2004.
The meeting of the European Associations will begin on Sunday, October
3, 2004, with a session reporting on some highlights of the EHDN 2004 and
will be
finishing on Monday, October 4, 2004 after lunch.
A view of Guadarrama
The meeting venue is located in a small city northwest of Madrid and very close to San Lorenzo ElEscorial
a royal palace and a monastery complex built on order of the
emporer Felipe II by Juan Bautista de Toledo and Juan de Herrera from 1558-1595. Aside from
being a residence of the kings (Sitio Real) - in particular during the summer months - El Escorial served as a mausoleum of the Spanish Monarchs.
