Clinical services

Dr Andrea Nemeth and Dr Richard Armstrong run weekly HD clinics at either the Churchill or John Radcliffe Hospitals. Referral from a general practioner is required.

There is close working with local neurorehabilitation services and therapies, and community nursing support is available. Close links are maintained with the HDA regional care advisors.

Research Opportunities

Much research activity associated with HD is undertaken in Oxford and all patients will be offered opportunities to participate in local and collaborative research studies and clinical trials.

In 2016 these include

- ENROLL-HD (International Observational Study)
- Teva PRIDE-HD, Pfizer Amaryllis (International Drug Trials)
- Functional Connectivity of the Basal ganglia in HD (local MRI study, Dounaud)
- Apathy and Motivation in HD (local psychology study, Heron)
